What is Car Rental?

In most instances, Car Rental and Car Hire are used interchangeably. Some car rental company like to add a parenthesis to differentiate the term. Car rental is considered a long term hire of at least a month to three months while car hire is considered to be anything a day or a week to three. This, they say, helps calculate discounts for clients who want rental as opposed to those who are just intereested in hire.

What should i consider?

The vehicle you are renting should have been properly serviced and be within the stipulated servicable Kilometres / miles. It is highly reccomended that the vehicle should not have exhausted at least half of any of its single servicable period. This is peace of mind for rentals especially if your rental will last at least a month.

The car should be insured comprehensively. You also need to know how much liability you are going to be required to pay in case of an accident. The Car should be compliant with all government requirements. In kenya, A rental should have a PSV license, if it has a music system, it should have a Music Copyright license.

Always ask questions, make a list of things that will make you feel safe . Dont hesitate to review the answers and to ask even more questions. You are better safe than sorry.
